Africa Project Against Suicide

Through public campaigns, training, mentoring, economic empowerment and research, we have a vision to mobilize human and capital resources, to collaborate & manage partnerships to reduce cases of suicide and provide support to those affected.

This is an African based suicide prevention initiative. It was established to alert African citizens and governments about the looming epidemic of suicide and also generate systematic interventions.

Officially unveiled in the city of Polokwane, South Africa in 2018 with functional national and regional branches spread across nations of Africa. Currently 29 countries are APAS members. They are developing plans for suicide awareness and resources in their countries. The members get together yearly for a conference to spur each other on, learn about new resources, and be trained in LION leadership principles.
