Christian Basics

L.I.O.N. Outreach is training leaders in a variety of oral methods using a special “Christianity 101” curriculum series called Christian Basics.

Pastor, author, and missionary, Dr. Ed Roels created this dialogue-style approach to learning the basics of the Christian Faith.  In addition to English, LION India has published these books in 5 Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.

In each country, leaders who work primarily with the poor and marginalized people are invited to attend 2-3 day events. We use interactive workshops rather than a traditional seminar format. Leaders who have only experienced Biblical training in a classroom, church, or lecture are surprised by this, but quickly adjust! Eight methods used in every workshop are: storytelling, dialogue, team decision making, comparative exercises, drama, song writing, artistic creations, and group discussion application.
